*Commissioner (President)

Key Responsibilities:

● Assume duties of the Commissioner when absent.
● Help guide board members, coaches, and captains to ensure smooth operations.

● Develop and manage content for social media, newsletters, announcements, and digital campaigns.
● Promote league events, player spotlights, registrations, and volunteer opportunities.
● Create and maintain messaging that is inclusive, affirming, trauma-aware, and accessible.
● Collaborate with the Community Outreach & Sponsorship Director to amplify partnerships and sponsor recognition.
● Respond to inquiries from prospective players, volunteers, and community members.
● Support recruitment efforts, especially targeting underrepresented groups within the LGBTQIA+ community (e.g., trans players, women, BIPOC members, beginners).

Key Responsibilities:
● Content & Posting
○ Create and schedule content for social platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Threads, etc.).
○ Share league updates, game results, event announcements, and registration information.
○ Highlight players, volunteers, teams, sponsors, and community partners.
● Culture & Communication
○ Maintain inclusive, affirming messaging that respects all gender identities and orientations.
○ Promote positive representation of LGBTQIA+, trans, nonbinary, women, and BIPOC community members.
○ Encourage sportsmanship, fun, and community connection.
● Collaboration
○ Work with the Communications Director on branding, posting schedules, and tone.
○ Coordinate with the Community Outreach & Sponsorship Director to recognize sponsors.

Overview: This role serves as the league’s connection to the wider community. The Community Outreach & Sponsorship Director builds relationships with LGBTQIA+ organizations, local businesses, nonprofits, and sponsors to strengthen the league’s financial foundation and impact.
Key Responsibilities:
● Identify and engage potential sponsors, partners, and community allies.
● Develop sponsorship packages and clearly communicate benefits (e.g., banners, naming rights, social visibility).
● Represent the league at events, Pride activities, tabling, or volunteer fairs.
● Forge connections with community-based nonprofits serving trans people, youth, BIPOC members, and marginalized groups.
● Coordinate outreach initiatives that increase player involvement and league visibility.
● Collaborate with the Communications Director to promote sponsorship partners.
● Track obligations and ensure sponsors receive agreed-upon recognition.

Sponsorship Committee Head (Community Outreach & Sponsorship Director)
Overview: The Sponsorship Committee Head is responsible for implementing the league’s sponsorship strategy and managing sponsor relations at the operational level. This role supports the Community Outreach & Sponsorship Director by coordinating sponsor outreach, fulfilling sponsor benefits, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring that sponsor partnerships enhance the experience of the LGBTQIA+ flag football community.
Key Responsibilities:
● Sponsor Recruitment & Support
○ Assist in identifying potential sponsors and local business partners.
○ Execute outreach efforts through email, in-person visits, networking, and community connections.
○ Present sponsorship packages clearly and professionally.
○ Maintain responsive communication with prospective and current sponsors.
● Fulfillment of Sponsor Benefits
○ Ensure sponsor recognition is delivered according to agreements (e.g., social media tags, banners, event announcements).

*Treasurer
Overview: The Treasurer oversees the league’s financial health, ensuring transparent, ethical, and responsible handling of funds. This role manages budgets, records, league expenses, and compliance to support long-term sustainability and affordability for players.
Key Responsibilities:
● Manage league bank accounts, financial records, and accounting procedures.
● Create annual and seasonal budgets in collaboration with the Commissioner and board.
● Track player dues, registration revenue, equipment purchases, referee fees, and event costs.
● Prepare financial reports for board meetings.
● Ensure transparency in decision-making around dues, spending, scholarships, or subsidies.
● Establish payment systems for players and sponsors (e.g., online payment, invoicing).
● Collaborate with Sponsorship Director to process sponsorship contributions and provide acknowledgment letters.
● Maintain compliance with nonprofit finance standards and applicable IRS/state reporting requirements.
● Recommend financial policies to ensure accessibility and sustainability (e.g., hardship funds, sliding scales).

Local League Director
Overview: The Local League Director oversees the day-to-day operations and on-field execution of the league’s season, including the management of refereeing and facilities. This role ensures that every game day is safe, fair, welcoming, and efficiently run.
Key Responsibilities:
● League Operations
○ Oversee scheduling, game-day logistics, field assignments, and weekly operations.
○ Work closely with the Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner to ensure the season plan aligns with league policies and inclusivity values.
○ Maintain clear communication with coaches, captains, players, referees, and volunteers.
○ Establish and run drafts for season play, including maintenance of player ratings, with an emphasis on fairness.
● Committee Leadership
○ Serve as direct supervisor for the Referee Committee Head and Fields & Equipment Committee Head.
○ Ensure committees are staffed, organized, and equipped to perform their duties.
○ Provide feedback, direction, and conflict resolution support to committee heads.
● Game Day Execution
○ Confirm field setup and teardown operations are timely and safe.
○ Ensure referees receive assignments, support, and communication before and during games.
○ Address immediate on-site issues including player safety, behavioral concerns, delays, and rule clarifications.

● Train referees on league rules, conduct expectations, and inclusion guidelines.

Fields & Equipment Committee Head (Local League Director)
Overview: The Fields & Equipment Committee Head ensures that league facilities are safe, accessible, and properly equipped. This role maintains game equipment, manages logistics, and supports a smooth game-day experience.
Key Responsibilities:
● Secure, coordinate, and prepare fields each week (permits, timing, setup, access).
● Manage inventory, care, and replacement of equipment (flags, cones, jerseys, whistles, scorecards, etc.).
● Coordinate setup and teardown volunteers.
● Communicate with the Local League Director about field conditions, shortages, or budget needs.
● Assist with large events such as playoffs, tournaments, or league events.
Qualifications:

● Ability to plan logistics and coordinate volunteers.

Travel Director
Overview: The Travel Director helps organize our league’s participation in NGFFL-hosted tournaments. This role coordinates logistics, keeps players informed, and makes sure everyone has a smooth, safe, and inclusive experience.
Key Responsibilities:
● Help organize travel plans for teams attending NGFFL tournaments.
● Collect interest and confirm who is traveling (players, refs, coaches).
● Coordinate uniform orders for travel team members.
● Communicate logistics clearly: deadlines, schedules, packing tips, and tournament requirements.
● Serve as the main point of contact between our league and NGFFL event organizers.
● Work with the Treasurer on budgets, payments, and sponsorship opportunities.
● Share updates in group chats, emails, or social announcements so travelers stay informed.
● Encourage sportsmanship, fun, and community connection.
